The United States has released the oldest inmates in the Guantanamo Bay Prison, Saifullah Paracha on Saturday (29/10). A Pakistani national, Paracha was captured two years after the 11 September attack in Thailand following a sting operation conducted by the FBI. He was accused of being Al-Qaeda sympathiser and was suspected of financing the group. He maintained his innocence. Pakistan has welcomed the release of Paracha and other Pakistani nationals also held in Guantanamo Bay.

He suffered injuries but quickly recovered in the hospital. The intruder plan to kidnapped Nancy Pelosi. Militarization Bill has been passed by Mexico state congresses, ensuring that the bill will be enshrined in the constitution. The bill was approved by the Senate and the Chamber of deputies earlier this month. The bill will allow the federal government to keep armed forces on the street for four years. Mexico President Lopez Obrador has urged the states legislature to approve the bill, saying that it is crucial in maintaining security. Critics of the bill though said that the bill will only perpetuate government failed security strategy and increase the risk of human rights violations conducted by the army.
The Mexican state of Tamaulipas has legalized Gay marriage on Wednesday (26/10) becoming the final state in Mexico to legalize the union. With this legalization, gay marriages are now legal in all of Mexican states. Tamaulipas is the eight states to legalize gay marriages this year after Guerrero, Durango, Jalisco, Yucatán, Veracruz, México state and Tabasco has legalized it earlier this year.
